Big Apple Soccer - BROOKLYN BOUND? Cosmos may wind up at MCU Park in '17

Excerpt -

Ten days ago on Saturday, Nov. 5 the Cosmos won a North American Soccer League semifinal playoff game at Shuart Stadium in Hempstead, N.Y. on Long Island.

Two days ago on Sunday, Nov. 13 they celebrated winning their second consecutive Soccer Bowl triumph and third in four years at Belson Stadium in Queens, N.Y.

And sometime next April, they could be playing their first game of the 2017 season at MCU Park in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The Cosmos are leaning closer to selecting the minor-league baseball park as their 2017 home field, according to local soccer sources. The Brooklyn Cyclones call MCU home.

No final decision has been made yet, a source said.

After Hofstra University officials told the Cosmos that they were not interested in hosting games next year, the team was forced to look for a new venue. Local options of finding a medium-sized stadium in the metropolitan area are slim and none.
