Brooklyn may soon have the drop on Manhattan’s New Year’s tradition.
Incoming Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said he’s already working on a version of the celebrated “ball drop” so the county of Kings can properly ring in 2015.
“We’re no longer living in the shadow of Manhattan,” Adams told the Daily News. “We have our own identity, and one way of stepping out of the shadow is from the bright lights of the ball drop.”
The Times Square Alliance, which oversees the internationally known party at the Crossroads of the World, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
