DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — City Point’s Phase IA design received final approval from the NYC Public Design Commission on Wednesday, according to Tom Montvel-Cohen, a consultant and spokesperson for the developer, Albee Development LLC.
Built to be eligible for LEED-Silver certification, the 50,000-square-foot retail building is the first phase of a multi-phased mixed-use development on the site of the former Albee Square Mall. Designed by Rick Cook of Cook + Fox, it will be the first new building built on the Fulton Mall in over three decades, according to Montvel-Cohen.
Groundbreaking is expected later this spring.
